How to Use a Zip File
Instructions:
IF YOU ARE UNFAMILIAR WITH HANDLING ZIP FILES PLEASE READ THESE
INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY.
TO DOWNLOAD THE FILE:
Click once on the underlined filename with the left mouse button.
Once this is done a pop-up window will appear.
In this pop-up window, choose (using the left mouse button) the directory
you would like to download the file to
and click the "Save" button.
A different window will appear and the download will begin and complete
without your assistance.
Once the download has completed there may or may not be a message stating
that the download completed successfully.
After being downloaded the file will need to be extracted.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR EXTRACTING FILES:
The utility used to access the file is going to differ depending on the
operating system being used.
If you not running windows XP you may require
Winzip or
freezip
Utilities such as File Manager, Windows Explorer, My Computer, etc. can be
used.
To extract the file:
Go to utility of choice and locate the directory where the file was
downloaded.
Locate the file that was just downloaded and double click it using the left
mouse button.
At this point one of two things may happen:
- The files will begin to extract in the directory where the downloaded
file is located.
- A message will appear that asks what program you would like to use to
open the file.
If the files extract directly to the hard drive, refer to the readme
document and follow the instructions.
If a message appears asking you what program you wish to use to open the
file, you will need to install one of the above applications
Winzip or
